Org. Setting and Reporting
These posts are located in the Medical Insurance Section, Financial Resources Management Service, Division of Administration of the United Nations Office at Geneva. The incumbent reports to the Benefits Officer of the Client Service Center in the Medical Insurance Section.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Benefits Officer of the Client Service Center, the incumbent is responsible for the following duties: - Performs all actions related to Medical Adviser request, affiliation, extension and disaffiliation in the Umoja system as well as in UNSMIS' proprietary system; - Verifies the affiliation requests to UNSMIS and to Life Insurance; - Receives staff members and retirees and informs them on their rights relating to UNSMIS and to the Life Insurance, and establishes all necessary administrative actions, follow-up and gives feedback; - Regularly checks discrepancy listings following data load from source systems Umoja and other system in different UN agencies insured with UNSMIS. Controls the listings issued by payroll in order to update these to reflect administrative actions and requests made by insured; - Establishes notifications of affiliation and dispatches copies of notifications to the different administrative services concerned as well as to the insured; - Informs directly the Life insurance company of affiliation requests received outside of set timelines and insures orderly follow-up of cases; - Participates, when necessary, to other tasks assigned to the team in case of absences.

Work Experience
At least five (5) years of experience in administration and direct relations with general public as well as clients are required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. At least two (2) years of experience in dealing with benefits and entitlements is desirable. At least two (2) years of experience in dealing with human resources matters, especially in extracting and using HR data is desirable. At least two (2) years of experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in both English and French is required.
Assessment
