The Position

Roche Corporate Donations and Philanthropy (CDP) is dedicated to creating meaningful, long-lasting impacts in the communities we serve, while contributing to broader societal goals. Our team focuses on driving philanthropic initiatives that align with Roche’s expertise and resources, partnering with local authorities and charities to deliver innovative and sustainable projects.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a range of impactful programs across humanitarian, educational, environmental, and cultural sectors. Together, we aim to foster positive change while engaging Roche employees and partners in meaningful, high-quality initiatives.

The position:

Support the integration of new digital applications within philanthropy:

  • Carry out research on the latest digital trends in philanthropy (apps, platforms, experiences) and opportunities to integrate new approaches across the CDP portfolio

  • Make suggestions on how data driven approaches and AI applications could be applied toward our fundraising efforts and philanthropic projects

  • Apply a “digital lens” to how existing CDP projects and processes could benefit from these approaches, e.g. skills-based employee volunteer recruitment, community engagement and community building

Be part of the change:

  • Pull through some of these new ideas across key projects and processes

  • Suggest and prepare digital platforms/Apps, surveys, rundowns for key projects

  • Act as a student liaison officer to facilitate effective communication with students participating in one of our philanthropic projects

  • Support the roll-out of a new app and online payment tool for our main employee-driven fundraising event

  • Apply AI/deep-learning to our recruitment methodologies to key programmes within our Arts & Science space as well as our skills-based volunteering programme

Provide project support:

  • Provide some hands-on logistical and administrative support for identified corporate philanthropic projects

  • Coordinate and monitor defined project tasks, track the status and ensure delivery of services on time, on budget, and to the highest specified level of quality

  • Assist with onsite logistics supporting our main philanthropic event

  • Correspond with internal and external stakeholders and maintain generic mailboxes

Who you are:

  • Background in computer science/IT, with an interest in artificial intelligence

  • Digitally savvy; ability to work with a range of digital platforms

  • Pays attention to detail

  • Can-do attitude, entrepreneurial spirit

  • Prior experience in project and/or event management

  • Purpose-driven, commitment to philanthropy and corporate sustainability

  • Fluent in English and French, German language is a plus

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program at a university or graduated within the last 12 months prior the start date

Preferred start date: October 2024

Preferred duration of the internship: 12 months

This internship is suitable for a Master thesis.

For non-EU/EFTA citizens: Certificate from the university needs to be attached stating that an internship is mandatory (required due to regulations).Furthermore, they have to be enrolled during the whole duration of the internship.
