About the Role
novoMOF is seeking a Lab Technician / Lab Assistant to support our research and development activities in the synthesis and characterization of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs). This is a junior-level, hands-on position ideally suited for candidates looking to grow their technical experience in a cutting-edge materials science environment.
The role includes both experimental and operational responsibilities, ensuring smooth daily operations in our laboratory and contributing to high-quality data generation across R&D and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the synthesis of MOF materials following standard operating procedures.
- Support characterization workflows, including PXRD, TGA, BET, and other analytical techniques.
- Perform sample preparation, documentation, and basic data analysis for quality control.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, organize workspaces, and ensure proper waste management.
- Manage the ordering of chemicals, consumables, and lab supplies in coordination with the team.
- Arrange shipments and documentation for sample transfers and external analyses.
- Maintain equipment logs, calibrate instruments, and coordinate routine maintenance where required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Completed vocational training or associate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
- First experience in a laboratory setting (internships, apprenticeships, or university labs).
- Familiarity with chemical handling, lab safety, and basic analytical techniques.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable with a proactive working style.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in English (German a plus).
