Syngenta is typical of the large companies in Basel Switzerland. The Compensation & Benefits of the company are within measure with Novartis, Roche, etc., Work environment is also about the same. The management of Syngenta leaves something to be desired because most are powerless to lead their own teams. If you are fair to yourself, it is possible to work 8.5 hour days, but it is also possible to work 16 hour days. Management doesn't care either way. Also, one needs to be smart enough to stay out of the politics and intrigue (or enjoy such things) to work at Syngenta. I found working at Syngenta mostly a Thankless task. However, on the positive side, it is easy to sink into the numbers here and get your job done and go home. Not every role at Syngenta was a bad experience, but the areas where I worked I found the above to be status-quo for this company.
