I enjoyed my time working with Securitas. It was a decent job and worked with some great coworkers. As in most contract security jobs, benefits are bad. I was allowed to take 2 months off for vacation and still had my job. Securitas was very flexible. I met some of the best people while working with Securitas. Workplace was fun with coworkers. Management was alright, not the best but not the worst. Learned a lot about working in a control room. The hardest part was the call offs. Calls off were a big problem. The most enjoyable part was the anniversary check we would receive. I'm not sure if they still do it but when i was there, on our hire date anniversary we would receive a free 1 week check.

This company has really bad ethics and seems to have no concern for the health and safety of it's employees. I started working for Securitas as a result of a TUPE at the National Gallery. After Securitas took over the security department they changed almost everything even after telling us they wouldn't. Significant cuts to staff were made and security standards have dropped. Most of the original staff have been made redundant or resigned.

The job was not hard at all at the Microsoft site. The training work is the extremely tedious. I don’t remember the total amount of trainings but it’s in the 40-50s range of different packets you need to have done in a certain amount of time. Then if you complete them and a supervisor loses them you have to redo it all. Most of the co workers I had were good but the place is a revolving door so the good ones come and go. The best workers get looked over for promotion. It’s hard to stay motivated when the people who show up and actually work get looked over or treated as if they don’t do anything.

This is a stable job but little to no room for promotion. Management is biased and are very unresponsive to difficult situations. Pretty much on your own when it comes to certain problems.

Site Captain made racist comments on a usual basis. Site captain belittled his control room operators as well as patrol and red zone officers. Often communication was not achieved due to the constant scrutiny and profanity used by the Site captain towards employees.

It took me less than six months to advance from Security Officer at the gate to Coordination Centre Controller. So this simply means opportunities for promotion are available.

I have very few positive comments about Securitas. For the location I worked at, the site security manager cared about the work we did and effort that we put in. He was able to get us a couple small raises that together my coworkers and I felt better compensated. The job itself was not too bad. I enjoyed the line of work. The environment was terrible. The employees where we worked mostly treated us like garbage with no consequences, the management was very contradicting in their rules and enforcement of those rules. They were very quick to pick favorites, and those people could get away with anything. Multiple times people would bring concerns to the management, whether it was about other co-workers or how to improve the moral in the workplace; all of these concerns were either thrown into the wind or handled completely wrong, making matters a lot worse. Some people were fired with little to no notice, and for the smallest reasons. On a daily basis me and other co-workers would come in to work nervous that our badges were deactivated and we wouldn't know until trying to enter the building. With better management the job could be amazing, and there are many ways to invent roles to increase likelihood of career options, but Securitas doesn't seem to care. Anytime you need to contact the branch office, for HR or other reasons, you can never get a hold of anyone and have to leave a message hoping to get a call back. When I quit, I had to pry and send emails, leave voice mails, just to get my annual PTO check that was almost 4 months late. Securitas is constantly desperate for - plus...

I enjoyed my particular team, site, and management. Securitas moves their employees around typically. I was fortunate to stay on one site with great $.

Working at Securitas was one of the least exciting jobs I've held. The hours were long and boring. There isn't much career advancement (if any), unless a supervisor leaves their position. The management is poor and they fail to value their employees. The pay is poor and not enough to live on.

worst security firm i have ever worked for. front office and site managers incompetent and slow. most of the other employees were sub par and i ended up doing a great deal of their jobs in addition to my own. they refused to honor the agreement we had regarding wages when i switched sites.

This company can provide you with sufficient job because of its size, however, the management could be better and sometimes it could focus more on job satisfaction elements. If you are looking for a company where you can educate your self and build up your career than probably it is not the right choice. Here are only promises. The company's main principals suggest better company cultures however on the lower level you could be disappointed.

Lots of hours and overtime opportunities. Advancement is easy and the pay rate out of the gate is top notch, however branch management is terrible and HR takes longer than they should to get anything done to benefit you.

This was the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. Very unprofessional, lack of communication with leadership, a lot of FAVORTISM, not worth the money that they pay hourly, lack of career advancement, worst insurance package in the history of insurance packages, you only get 3 hrs of pto per paycheck, overall this was the worst company I have ever worked for, I would not recommend this company to anyone. It is not worth the money or the time! If you’re putting in an application for this job, DONT!!!! Don’t wast your time, you’re better off working for McDonalds!!!
