A typical day at work: running to get things done. What you learned: how to prioritize everyone's needs Management: not forthcoming with their thoughts Workplace Culture: high school mentality, but fun times. The hardest part of the job: Getting all items done in timely manner The most enjoyable part of the job: being able to do for others and having insurance.
Working in the warhouse area completely takes away your life. They expect constant overtime and make it mandatory. They don't hire enough people at a fast enough pace and the people they do employ are from a temp agency and not very reliable. On the flip side, the office area is great. Don't expect to advance unless you have a degree, but they at least treat you like a human being.
Office side is great, good compensation, great benefits and time off, work from home days
Warehouse overtime is rediculous, underpayed, and understaffed

Decision here are based on your relationship with other people, and not on your skills and abilities. yes, it is important to have relationships with people but just because I don't live down the street from you or our kids don't go to the same school or go to Sunday school together doesn't mean I shouldn't be considered for management.
Career growth from within the company, you can work from home remotely. I was able to cross train in other areas of the company and travel. The company has a flexible work schedule
Lots of opportunities, but it has a giant company culture and was hard to get anything done. You have to have multiple levels of approval for anything. Managements only concern was keeping their job.
Too much bureacracy
Can easily lose work-life balance if you are not disciplined to maintain it. Hard, fun, chaotic, stressful and sometimes rewarding. Constantly challenged due to new opportunities .
latitude is given as the PM
cross-functional turf wars
Pros - Great culture with competitive salary and benefits. Plenty of perks like on-site fitness center and cafe. Resource groups available for wide range of activities supported by management. Cons - High risk projects can be improperly resourced and managed. Frequent layoffs.
I enjoyed working their, I did get a promotion but the ability to move up in company was difficult for most. The pay was average for Memphis Tn. Building was always cold and the management was predomently White. Not many Black people promoted or encouraged to move up in management. I also had some race issues while their. Glad I changed career paths.
My job at Medtronic was exciting, but too demanding for my young children. I would love to work there today. My children needed their mother. The job had great colleagues to work with daily.
The job was competitive and enjoyable.
The wrong hours and too long.
Ultimately company seems to be unsure and desperately needs attention and immediate action in all areas that need to set a solid and affective foundation
Work from home
Endless amount of inconsistencies, poor management
I found the environment to be well organized if not a bit stuffy due to necessity of meeting FDA regulations. This also promotes strict, rigorous a numerous training regiments. The personnel are professional but not encouraged to be friendly. Diversity at Medtronic is unmatched in my professional career.
company issued laps, autonomy, diversity
