Pros: Great patients-first mission that all align toWicked smart employees and leadersDecent pay and growth Good brand name for resume Strong and diversified product portfolio (smart strategies)Cons: Out of control high politics. Politics has grown tremendously the past 6y as the company doubled in size. Much more cutthroat- especially in Minneapolis. No work-life balance- run lean and hide bonus OT project works as "growth development opportunities"- it's very very normal to work 50hr+/wk at salaried levels (all), and 60+ in Dir+ roles. Company has changed a lot in top ranks- definitely not as warm and familial as it used to be. Sub cultures vary greatly- certain functions/businesses/regions are much healthier than others- some are in a great spot and some are toxic.Used to be more best-in-class in pay and benefits packages, now just overall "competitive"

There are times when coming into a 12 hour shift that you will find yourself walking into a room full of machines that are down. There is not a single thing you can do about it, especially for night shift, most of the time there won't be an engineer who can bring the tools up. Also, you are not atleast compensated for sitting in a room full of whirring tools for 12 hours, instead you are welcomed with "work" they find for you, such as things that are not within your job scope or trained to do. Or, you can use your personal paid time to leave through your manager, or better yet, if you're a contractor you leave without pay. Sure, a night or two occasionally is fine, but several weeks consisting of a few actual work nights gets very tiresome. Sometimes sacrificing some pay or personal time keeps you sane. Sitting under bright white lights, with lots of white noise and at night time gets old quick. The other kicker is when you finally get through a slow shift, you may be (what feels like) interrogated by your team lead or someone else of authority as to why you didn't run the tools. Or, if a tool is having issues but you are debating whether to put it down (because the lack of communication between engineers, supervisors and team leads) the operators catch the heat, since they were told one thing by someone and another by someone else. Sometimes, no matter what decision you make, whether to put the tool down or not depending on the circumstance, you will catch the heat.
Health benefits, work benefits, good pay
Communication, downtime, coverage, training, support
Started 2018 End date 2019. Not a good place. Benefits are good but that is about it. Culture metrics was their only priority. They don't care if you have the work experience. No support
No breaks. Feels like you work for a factory sweat shop. Expectations are not possible nor valid.

The extras and the salary helped make this job bearable but within a short period of time I was transferred to a different district where I did not feel supported by my team, and my close team actually tried to get me fired. The mental toll of working alongside that group of people had me looking for a new job less than a year in.
Money for car, cell phone
Mental health is non existence
Productivity and fun work place with it flexibility,it also encourages production innovations,The management concerns about the workers, the aspect of diverse culture interaction
One of the best company that I've worked for. Colleagues are good and the working environment is flexible. Able to work from home. Systems used are quite advanced.
Risk of jobs moving to shared services

Emploi chez Medtronic
Given the corporation's size. an employee was made to feel special and an integral part of the company's daily operations. Impressed by the scientific research and achievements in biological testing and devices.
More flexibility needed re work scheduling.
I've learned a lot in the few years I've been at Medtronic. Great coworkers. I provide product training for patients on Medtronic pump/CGM therapy as well as clinical support and education. Processes change quite often. If you're resistant to change, you'd probably have a difficult time. One of the 'hardest' parts of the job is constantly dealing with our patients' technical issues, such as sensor issues. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping people to improve their lives through better diabetes management.
Working at my Medtronic is great, more opportunity for grow. More relax environment . You can always start with contract from there you grow up next level
Good break time too comfortable
Brilliant place to work . Very educated and aware core team from engineering , quality manufacturing, line leads and supervisors . Helpful and experienced permanent staff on the floor also . No issues except one person ( there is always one in every work place ) would repeatedly ignore social distancing and abuse the kindness of fellow workers and take almost 2 hour long breaks regularly . It was disheartening to see the blaytent abuse of the system during the pandemic and in such a critical location to the ventaltors . But karma came around and fixed that . Other than that one person the best factory i have worked in by far .
Free coffee, approachable core teams and management
One person dragging th rest down and not respecting social distancing and not working, abusing breaks and kindness of fellow co-workers.
Really enjoy to work for Medtronic, I learn a lot. I got the opportunity without experience in the field. Low opportunity to grow. Many overtime, short breaks and 30 minutes for lunch.
