Cambridge office was an extraordinary place to work

Audible has a well thought-out interview process with high standards. The good news is you'll be working with extraordinarily bright people who also a lot of fun to be around on a daily basis.The Cambridge office is special- it's an intimate group, somewhat shielded from the more corporate environment at the Newark, NJ headquarters. So while gaining the benefits of working for a massive corporation like Amazon, you can develop strong relationships with everybody who works there.

Any restriction on coming to the office is toxic to the culture, A lot of time is spent re-engineering systems, Managers are under stress to produce which can trickle down under ineffective SDMs

Growing Company

Audible is a subsidiary company of Amazon, and you will enjoy many benefits that Amazon employees receive. While Audible follows Amazon's standard and guidance, you will find managements' trying to do Audible-only projects that often conflicts with "Amazon-way".

Audible has a good culture and a lot to offer. Fun environment, fast pace

There are good things that I can say about Audible. Fun place to work. The company offered a lot of perks. Paid parking or public transportation; catered lunch and breakfast, tickets for events at major arena's in the Newark area just to name a few. Very fast pace environment, nice be people, very large staff. Unfortunately management in my team was not at their best to mentor and fully support you in growth and moving up within the department. Very isolating in their approach in things that mattered in fully being a team player. A person/teams actions will always speak louder than words and in appearance. Loyalty goes a long way, unfortunately they have work to do in this area

Audible is great on paper but has a long way to go

Audible definitely wants to make its employees feel taken care of and appreciated. The various perks such as their benefits package, free lunches, discounts, and various amenities (travel compensation, happy hours, etc) make it one of the most enticing places to work. However, when it comes down to business management, training, and communication, Audible lacks a great deal. There is a consistent "hand-off" attitude when it comes to taking responsibility for the problems in their operational processes. Inconsistencies in leadership and information make for a very stressful work environment under the happy surface Audible tries to convey.

My manager was absent for the majority of my contract & didn't give me enough work to do, but asked me to look busier. My contract was project-based, and when the project ended I left. I got the feeling that full-time employees enjoyed their work life more.

Good opportunities

Good company to work for. Great work atmosphere. Management receives training but does not necessarily adhere to what they've learned. Impossible to attend school while working in customer service.

Audible is a great company to work for, the work environment is what ever an individual decides to make it based on that persons personality. it has a sense of being with family all day.

Very relaxed environment that is rapidly expanding with amazon AND it has great perks ( ping pong table, free catered lunches, happy hours every friday)

Ok for a JOB, not so much for career development

Good benefits, and extraordinary employees to network with. However, company does not foster growth in some departments. Turnover rate is high and morale is low.

Audible - a good place to work, with a fantastic product

Audible has been a solid place to work over the years with a fantastic product. They foster a learning environment and treat employees quite well. Management can be a bit opaque, but is effective nonetheless.

Dysfunctional Management

big disappointment. executive is passive/aggressive with little to no communication on roles and responsibilities. publicly humiliates you in front of your peers, and seems to have difficulty looking you in the eye. Apparently, they think paying for your lunch is thanks enough for working your butt off.

fun challenging environment with great people

Love the people I work with. They teach me and challenge me to be better. I go to a lot of meetings to discuss how to market our product. Hardest part of my job is double checking my work and making sure I communicate effectively across teams. Best part of my job is the food, camaraderie, and happy hours.

Frustrating, it could be so much better

As a satellite office to the Audible Headquarters in New Jersey, which is itself an Amazon acquisition, the Cambridge office struggles to find its own identity. Projects come and go, and the head count after being stagnant is on the rise, but real growth and new projects are hard to find, and the path to advancement is unclear and elusive.
