You stay pretty busy. Some days a little slow, others there's a lot going on. Depending on the department I feel like it can get a bit stressful at times if you actually care.

It's all about metrics and efficiency and sometimes people are lost in this.

There is no typical day at work. Each day is different and you never know what to expect when you arrive. I have learned to document everything I do and say and even have pictures. Management is not about communication but providing minimal information to get the job done. The hardest part of the job is the tolerance management has for people who don't want to work and come up with never ending excuses to not work and that makes it challenging for the rest of the associates who want to work. The hardest part of the job is the fact that you can't believe what most of what management tells you to your face because you often find out the opposite from others. There is no consistency between managers and this leads to confusing direction for associates.

Management was horable at my store they like to pick favorites including the store manger we had good management but the store manager did it I would say don't do it

It's somewhere to start to gain experience

Typical day can be very boring, same routines, more online customers than in store traffic. Constant inventory counting is annoying because its flaws in system so its never accurate, which totally wastes your time.There's no training unless you're upper management.

poor management. stressful work place.

This company only cares about online ordering metrics. If you bring up concerns to management you end up getting fired for it and cannot ask for advice or proper procedures from assistant general managers because all they do is blame each other and talk behind each others' backs like high schoolers. There is no work life balance for this job. Everything in this company is always changing and if you aren't up for change this isn't the job for you. You will never receive one right answer for a procedure because everyone does not follow the same polices/procedures.

Very productive and very fast paced working place

In my opinion Amazon is one of the top innovative companies in the world. I learned a lot working here. Their software really works. Amazon likes the numbers and I like it too. I can periodically check my numbers how I am doing. At the end I’m the top top ten when I check my performance. Thank you Amazon for creating an amazing place to work with.

Decent pay, but for the amount of nonsense you have to put up with, not worth it.

Terrible company. Terrible management. Literally hundreds of thousands of dollars of wasted food every week. Dirty. Incompetent staff. Kitchen and Meat & Seafood department not up to state certified sanitation/cleanliness standards. Untrained children with no experience everywhere. Terrible.

Great place for advancement but stressful

Working at Amazon is definitely bittersweet. You learn a lot about the company and you learn a variety of different skills depending on ur position . I started off as an grocery associate but got promoted to zone lead fairly quickly. Had a great connection with managers. This position can be stressful at times and very time consuming so it was hard to maintain a work/life balance. However, I am thankful that managers pushed me out of my comfort zone to achieve all the goals I desired for growing in the company. Unfortunately resigned due to travel distance from home but overall great company!

Disappointed

I am extremely disappointed in working for this company. The management wasn’t the greatest. Got treated poorly. Got talked down to by management. Too much work for such little pay. Inhumane work conditions. Just overall horrible place to work at.

Disorganized, overstocked, wasteful

My training consisted of being shuffled around to open stores to learn from others that barely knew how to do their job. From top management down few employees had any grocery experience. Training is a joke. They hand you a tablet and you watch a bunch of videos, most of mine had nothing to with my job (why am I learning about warehouse security and waste management when I'm working at a grocery store). You are expected to learn your job on your own, when you seek help that lead hardly knows what they are doing. Each manager does things their way, it ends up confusing associates and suddenly they are getting yelled at for doing the job wrong, which is unfair it is not the associate's fault if they were taught wrong by another manager. The tech is cool but causes more problems and extra work. Depending on what department you are in your day will consist of counting, recounting, and then counting again. Everything is built on automation. Ordering for the store is done outside the store level. You end up with ridiculous overstock issues no matter what location you work at managment says it happens because your inventory count is wrong. Even if the count is right corporate still sends way too much, I think its because they are trying to empty the warehouse, I worked grocery before and it happened from time to time, but this is another level. The amount of food that gets thrown out or donated is insane. Instead of having an actual reciever everyone does it so things get messed up there. The excuse for mismanagement and all the waste is the store is new and all kinks will work out -
