Management promotes who they like & finds reasons to get rid of people they don't want.They will try to underpay you. Always push for more money or stocks.

Good place to work

Time management was good. I learned using bar code reader, scanner, packaging items, on time for day shifts, break, etc. hardest part of the job is to go into freezers and picking items.

Chill place to work

Very chilled place to work, but management was all over the place. Things were constantly changing because it was the first actual grocery store to open in northern Virginia.

Repetitive easy work, poor mid-level management, below average pay, but Great benefits!

If you need the benefits its a great place to start. The workplace drama between ASMs and the lower level employees was very unprofessional. Management plays favorites and treats people unfairly. Store manager was great, but if you went to them with an immediate concern the ASM would threaten to write you up for "breaking the chain of command" even when they do nothing about the issues brought up. You are replaceable to them and they make sure you know it.

It's somewhere to start to gain experience

Typical day can be very boring, same routines, more online customers than in store traffic. Constant inventory counting is annoying because its flaws in system so its never accurate, which totally wastes your time.There's no training unless you're upper management.

Decent pay, but the night shift is terrible!

Overall, working at Amazon Fresh was a decent experience: the pay was adequate, the hours were reasonable, and the work was easy. However, the night shift is just not for me. Although 8 hours isn't too long, it feels twice as long during the night shift. It was very inconvenient to have a nocturnal sleep schedule; I could feel my mental faculties struggling to keep up.

It pays decent

Pretty basic Job. Have to learn the TC to do anything to stocking or removing inventory. A decent amount of labor for people who want to work. You can work between 4am-10pm if you are day shift. Weekend is required every once and a while.

Great Teamwork

Teamwork is great but there is a trickle down effect of lack of training. But everybody works together to figure it out and train each other, leads and team members alike. Haven't met upper management yet.

Ran pretty poorly

Managers allow way too much standing around. There's alot of favoritism played. If the job was run better it would be one of the best job available trust me.

Don’t do it

Honestly the worst job I’ve had, all the managers that come and go suck the life out of you and expect you to stick around dealing with their stuff. There’s so much that happened throughout the years and let me say that it gets worst. You think you might see a progress but your just the end of the stick and they just don’t care. We’re always short staffed and the managers physically see you being swamped with customers or see that you need help and they don’t rush to help you. Your availability also flies out the window, so heads up for that one, they say they are flexible but give it a few months and they will give you the schedule that is more convenient for them, even though they know you can’t do those certain times. You either have to track them down and beg like literally beg for a schedule change or just find another job

Simple place to work

The company has been through a lot of employees. Management depends on people who do the work while others don’t work. Culture isn’t good when people would clock in from home for weeks before termination. Big problems with inventory with orders being too large to fit inside the store and end up donating or trashing new products. They would rather you throw it away than take it home. Flexible scheduling. Overnight is extra 60 cents an hour. Starting is 15.95 so pay is decent. Many good employees left because of management.

Mediocre

Overall, basically a warehouse style grocery store a little bit weird to me and could never satisfy demand. Management is a waste of time and basically do everything to “company needs” and oh good luck trying to move up!

Decent place to work depending on what department you worked in.

Overall the job itself was good. Management could get a bit annoying since they were always uptight about certain things. Co workers were friendly. If you worked par time you basically had a set schedule which was cool.

Easy and super cool

The people there are really nice. The work load isn’t heavy and there are a lot of job opportunities to move up. Assistant Store Managers are willing to work with school schedule.

Constantly Exhausted

If you want a personal life do not do overnights at amazon the shifts are 12 hrs long and your constantly on ur feet and for those 4 days you work back to back you wont want to do anything because your body has been so worked do to high volume of work and not enough people on staff

Irritating Management

The management are the ones who make this already miserable job hideous. They constantly try to change things up for no reason which makes the job harder. Work hours are a joke, one day you get a regular shift from 10-6 pm, the next you could be working from 5 am to 1 pm, not even letting you have some sleep. If you want to work here only apply for flex, but even then there aren't enough shifts because they over hire! And the managers are very rude and constantly harassing employees.

Dead end job

Managers micromanage you too much and Expect to work like the flash. It’s very repetitive nothing too exciting. I’d recommend part time to try it out. Or a flex schedule.

The rumors about Amazon being inept when managing a grocery store are true.

Being a flex associate is great because you are in control of your hours. However, I wouldn’t recommend working any other position. The hours are random and you have no real schedule, ranges from 4am to like 11pm and it can be back-breaking labor. Even flex can be irritating helping customers ask dumb questions constantly, and poor communication, in addition to repetitive work and an overall draining environment. I’ve had issues with co-workers being flirty constantly, management being somewhat harassing… etc. The shelves have been half empty for years which leads to issues with customers wanting product, and they are stocked incorrectly due to a lack of supervision a lot of the time. If you can avoid working here do it.
