Delivery Driver/Independent Contractor (employé actuel) - San Antonio, TX - 26 janvier 2023
Avis à la une
L'avis le plus utile, sélectionné par IndeedWhat is the best part of working at the company? Days off when needed without having to request them in advance. Bareley have to interact with customers. Can work with service dog, pet or a companion (companion doesn't get paid). Good exercise while working / making deliveries. Finish early, get paid full block. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Trafic hrs, gate codes missing, no over time paid, labyrinth apartments complex, & finding parking downtown. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Employees at pickup location are friendly and helpful What is a typical day like for you at the company? Mostly driving & walking, 50% can be stairs depending on area of delivery. Must make all deliveries on time or points off. Must work beyond simply delivering, like finding how to hide package from thieves.

Not Good
Independent Contractor/Driver (ancien employé) - North Los Angeles prime now Warehouse - 7 janvier 2023
I was one of the first driving groups of independent contractors for flex that started when they opened the Los Angeles area. It's very disorganized management does it give a hoot about anything other than you delivering your packages fast. There's so many problems with being a flex driver it's not even worth it. As for job security you could lose your contract at any time for any reason and that's it. And it's very hard to get driving shifts with them because they have way too many drivers

Good paying side gig if you wait for better paying offers. Hard to make FT work out of it.
Independent Contractor/Delivery Driver (employé actuel) - Naples, FL - 25 décembre 2022
Independent contractor as delivery driver. I love that you are on your own with no bosses. The delivery part of the job is easy, their app guides you thru everything and its very accurate and responsive. Block offers start at $18/hour. I don't accept any block offers of less than $20/hour and that requires waiting and not been able to work blocks on a daily basis. I have averaged $26/hour after my first 14 block offers accepted and thats probably the only way to do this in order to offset the cost of gas and wear on your vehicle. It also helps that I have been able to finish all my blocks up to 1 hour early and that helps offset the waiting time at the pick up warehouse which can sometimes be up to half hour. Hard to make this a full time gig since the app doesn't easily allow working more than 1 block per day.
Points positifs
Potential good pay for a side gig. No bosses. Work when you want.
Points négatifs
Good paying blocks hard to come by. Hard to make FT work out of it.

Independent Contractor/Driver (employé actuel) - Baltimore, MD - 1 novembre 2022
So far so good. But I done two blocks. So I will updated review. Balance Whole Foods has been a good route. The app doesn’t always get you to each delivery the fastest route.

Delivery pay! Sometimes not enough for some deliveries
Independent Contractor/Delivery Driver (employé actuel) - Morrisville, NC - 21 septembre 2022
Some of these delivery zones are too far expanding out at least 17 miles sometime for deliveries for just a one or two items. I think that's not right, they should pay you more for going that far out instead of batching six customers orders all together and deliver to people's houses for one price when they should pay you more when they know that a customer lives a good distance from the store. A little extra pay per offer will help the delivery driver out with extra gas, oil, tires an wear an tear of their personal vehicle. This is my Bad about Amazon Flex. This is my Good about Amazon Flex, It's a great gig worker/ Independent Contractor job, set your own time an days you want work, You can work any day you choose Mon -Sun 24 hrs a day. It's totally up to you. An you get paid every Friday

We don’t matter
Independent Delivery Driver (employé actuel) - Chicagoland Area - 4 août 2022
This program is awful. There are no benefits and you never climb a corporate ladder. The company does not care about you and you are constantly accused of not delivering packages. You pay for your own gas and the wear and tear of your vehicle and when your car blows up that’s it. You’re on your own!

Paid twice weekly incompetent staff
Driver/Independent Contractor (ancien employé) - Sauget, IL - 26 juin 2022
I like the pay twice weekly, however if there is ever a problem with pay, there is no HR. There is only an email address to complain to Amazon support. They are very incompetent with helping resolves issues. Driver support is great tho
Points positifs
Paid twice a week
Points négatifs
Incompetent support on issues unrelated to delivering

Terrible experience for Amazon Flex driver
Amazon Independent driver (employé actuel) - Australia - 12 juin 2022
They will not provide on the road training with you and the Amazon app is always faulty and full of mistakes. Pinned wrong building wrong, when the client's said they lost the parcel you get a strike. When you ask them for help to prevent the same dispute from repeating they will replied the decision is finalized and will not help you. It is stressful and not getting support. Poor work experience and really stressful work.

Over worked for under pay compensation
Contracted driver (ancien employé) - Huntingdon Valley, PA - 29 mars 2022
I worked with Amazon flex for about 3yrs. 2019-2021 in the beginning of working with Amazon flex it was a continuous on going of problems 1) their app would drop signal during very rural delivery routes 2) there was many stops that were difficult location wise to make(dirt roads) Non-cleared roads of snow in the winter time. 3) their gps navigation was the worse I had ever “had” to use, many times it has dangerously directed me to travel one way streets the wrong direction. Now they allow you to utilize Waze-Google maps-Apple map- 4) many times I had to drive over an hour to get back home after my last stop 5) pay compensation was not fair as far as the work required per route!

Usually a relaxing and enjoyable job, with great flexibility and pay.
Independent Delivery Driver (employé actuel) - Milwaukee, WI - 6 février 2022
When things go smoothly, it's a relaxing, flexible and good paying job. When things go wrong, it can get stressful. Fortunately, your shifts are never too long, so it's not to hard to trudge through a bad day, reset and start fresh tomorrow. When delivering groceries or other packages that are eligible for tips, it can go either way...you might get stiffed, or you may even double your base wage (or even more on rare occasion). Usually tips are going to be $10-20 for a 2ish hour block, assuming you do a competent job (in my experience, no guarantees). These are good blocks to pick up in your spare time to boost your pay, while relying on the package routes to make up the bulk of your blocks. They tend to be more consistent and are usually higher paying, however, you will be making more stops and driving longer distances in most cases. Find the right balance for you. How well the warehouse you are working from is run, makes a big difference towards starting your day off on the right foot...so if you try out this job and don't like it, trying reserving a block from a different station and see how they operate before you give up on it. I find I have bad days working out of certain locations more often than others, but most are operated well. Make sure your try a little of everything.
Points positifs
Extremely flexible, Good pay*, Near complete independence, Minimal contact with other people, When everything goes right, the job is relaxing and enjoyable
Points négatifs
*If you don't have a fuel efficient car your expenses can make the pay not-so-great, Will increase the wear and tear on your vehicle significantly, The app can be glitchy & the maps can be flaky, Sometimes deliveries will take you to areas with poor cell phone coverage, When things go wrong the job can be very stressful

Hard to get blocks
Contract Delivery Driver (ancien employé) - Orlando, FL - 15 octobre 2021
No work everyday. Not enough work to pay bills. Had to get another job. Finding blocks weren’t always possible. Appreciate the flexibility, but not enough hours worked to be full time job.

Enjoyable
Independent Contractor/Driver (employé actuel) - Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN - 11 octobre 2021
Honestly, I havent paid much attention to the benefits you can get via the third-party they use, this is a part time gig for me. You dnt have to interview which is nice. After holding a job for 30 of my 43 yrs of life Im happy to not have to deal with management, co-worker drama heck people in general. You literally swipe your drivers license or show your phone to a warehouse person get your block/route and off you go. All you need is a running vehicle, valid drivers license, auto insurance and know how to read a map/gps as you drive. You can bring your kids to assist you, friends or family they just cant enter the warehouses. You can work as many or as little hours as you like. I usually work 3-5hr a day Saturday n Sunday and depending on the blocks you pick can make $60-150 per block. I average about $400 each weekend I try to do double blocks at least one of those days. And Ive only had two blocks in the big city which is nice the city can be a bit dangerous.
Points positifs
Solitude, paid Tuesday and friday work when you like
Points négatifs
Using your own vehicle

Flexible Schedule Hard to get help
Contract Delivery Driver (ancien employé) - San Antonio, TX - 9 octobre 2021
You get to make your own hours which is nice but sometimes it is hard to get blocks and justify this as a money making job. There are also problems that come up that you don't always get help with and the system will automatically dock you or deactivate you with no explanation. It's hard to get through to an actual person for support.
Points positifs
flexible
Points négatifs
no benefits, houes

Too many packages to deliver, good side gig.
Contract Driver (employé actuel) - Phoenix, AZ - 13 juin 2021
So far, I've only made one delivery. The Amazon associate that helped me check in was very nice and helpful when I told him it was my first time. However, as mentioned by many others, there are too many packages to deliver in the allotted time stated for a block. The app froze many times making it difficult to complete deliveries since you can't proceed until verifying each step. I tried calling support the first time app froze but realized it was too time consuming to be of any help real-time. Also, for one delivery location, GPS had me going in circles until I finally used my own common sense to figure out where I needed to go. All but one delivery was to apartments on 2nd or 3rd floors with 4+ packages, no lockers or elevators. Pay is decent but as a contractor driver you really need to track your mileage to make it worthwhile. Would do again, except for Prime Now (delivering groceries and household items), and only occasionally as side gig.
Points positifs
Easy experience onboarding virtualy.
Points négatifs
Way too many packages and very buggy app making deliveries more difficult than it should be.
