There is no room for advancement if you are not part of the "in crowd". They tell you they are going to take care of you but can't get simple issues resolved. The benefit package is the best I have ever had. Pto, vacation, unlimited sick time paid. A lot more. The best 401k ever. They match, and put in even if you don't. But the work environment is stressed bad. Terrible air quality. The worst of any shop I have ever worked in. Your ideas are ignored. You are treated as if you are completely replaceable. Some of management is really nice, and go out of their way to help you. But the top. 👎Steady word, and I do mean work. They will require "mandatory over time", and ask you to "step up" till you break. Very frustrating dealing with a manager/engineer that knows less about the job than you do. And don't think you are going to get any kind of high fives. So based on all of this I would avoid working there unless you really need good benefits.
Unlimited sick time paid, lots of vacation too
Highly stressful work environment you are expendable
It must continue doing a good job to its employee. And it should train other students from the TVET Colleges, provide them with Learnerships,Apprenticeships, Internships and In-Service Trainings.

I am honest and i have lot of experience in this field. When I was work in Nigeria with Alston what's amazing now I want work in England please give a chance I will do my best to justify.
Good job just bad management , they don’t care about there employees just making money and working unreasonable hours . Have one person in the management staff that has run off over half of the experienced Workers
Make plenty of money
No time off
During the period of time that I worked for Ge in India I found them to be a company of trust and reliability who are willing to go the extra mile in assisting the employees when they have work or personal issues .
Make the best of your opportunity wherever you work and show everybody what you capable of doing. I gained valuable experience.
Watch out for the Foamers storming the port and starb. sides, The hardest part of the job is trying to be in sync with the engineers (the away team) outrageous ideas. The most enjoyable part is when I understand how those seemingly outrageous ideas come together.
Railcars and Foamers
a typical day at work for alstom was welding to a high spec and top grade, everything must be perfect I have done mty nvq 2 and 3 i have experience in all aspects of welding i have also finish an outage at cottom power station. management and co workers are easy to work with and all enjoy their work. the hardest part of the job is been away from family when on an outage. but it is reall enjoyable at the same time.
