There is definitely a culture issue with this 100+ year company. It is/was(I left a few years back), I shall say, very conservative and risk averse. Might be good for someone of that nature.

The work/life balance at Alstom is pretty great and the compensation and benefits are really good. But, if you are not very excited about trains and train systems, it is not the best place to work at.

I went with my colleagues, to modern Villa. This Villa was very luxury place. We enjoyed by that time, and we were very happy. We played football, swimming, and we had a good lunch , and dinner.

Alstom was a good company to work for that gave many opportunities for special projects and advancement. However, Alstom recently sold off their power division to GE, which has created much uncertainty.

Good work culture and pay master with job security. Complete enpowerment was available from higher management. I handled tow hydro project during my tenure and fully satisfied.

I started my day by prioritising the necessary works to be done during the day.Follow-up with the support departments to get the work done was one of the main task in order to effectively achieve the sales target.Maintaining the priority of the tasks we had to do in a stipulated time was a great hurdle as it was related to target related objectives like sales and cash.When that is achieved, it used to give me immense pleasure.

Job description involves the complete monitoring of turnkey projects right from the beginning to the completion of project. The job improved my skills in on-time sales, on-time contract execution, improving profit margin, and negotiations with contractors. It gave me the opportunity to work with diverse cultures and truly global teams. Executing turnkey projects on time was a challenge because of the various uncertainties involved in the project. I was confronted with several challenges at a time, and the job helped me learn to prioritize the given challenges in accordance of their importance and execute them. The enjoyable part was the interaction with various customers and contractors because it widened my perspectives of business with respect to both the customer and contractor.

I am working in Alstom as Global support network Coordinator and WAN project manager for the APAC region. I started my day from 08:00AM and end my working day at 08:00PM/10:00PM IST. After 05:00PM IST I have to attend global management and global vendor meeting. this meeting started late hours of India time due to global managers and vendors are located in Europe and AMER region. I have learned how to build a company global process, Team building, vendor development, Global process implementation, improve the project delivery and support services to achieve customer satisfaction. Co-workers are good When management is not lessening my decision/idea or not given any suggestion and this same idea they are accepted at the last moment, when do not have sufficient time in hand to complete the task. that is the hardest part of the job to accept. When I get appreciation from the customer or I completed a project successfully with in given time.
